Garden Home-Grown Recipe Contest

The Home-Grown Recipe Contest is sponsored by Braden Road Farm to encourage youth to be resourceful and creative in preparing and serving garden produce.

Enter your garden recipe from Project Sheet #16.
Include a picture of the dish you prepared and served.
Entries will be reviewed for outstanding effort, creativity, nutritional value and appeal.

 

Prizes:   Blue Ribbon plus $50.
Winners will be selected from all grade levels K-8

To Enter:   Contestants must be students of ‘Gardening Adventures’.

Entry Details:

1. Enter a copy of your garden recipe from Project Sheet #16: COOKING
2. Enter a copy photograph of your prepared recipe in the serving dish(es) in a table setting.
3. Your Name, State, Grade, Age, and an Email Address (for prize notification) must be clearly printed.
4. Mail to:

Judging Criteria

Recipe:

* Neatness, grammar and spelling.
* Give attention to the description and measurements in your recipe.
* Content and Effort: Do your best; extra effort is easy to see.
* Recipes are judged according to grade level expectations.

Photograph:

* Judges will be looking for your recipe as a nicely arranged setting.
* Color contrast is effective. Does your presentation look fresh and tasty?
* Are the pieces cut evenly, and does the setting look clean and neat?
* You may send in two or three pictures if you like.

Deadline for Entries:

August 20th, 2016

Winners will be notified by September 10th, 2016

Conditions: KidsGAP.org reserves the right to publish entries in any format or media at any time. Only first names, city, state, and grade level of students will be noted if selected for publication. Entries may be used to promote our Curriculum or to inform the KidsGAP community of our events. All other information volunteered by any of our students is strictly confidential and is by no means made available by us to anyone for any purpose. Your privacy is very important to us.
